Tommy Dann Tribute

Tom, Tommy, Tommy D, Diddy, Hank, Sir, and Dad, are a few of the names that Tom had racked up through the years. The fact that Tom had so many is testament to the number of people in his life he inspired.

All that knew Tom were in awe of his natural ability to turn his hand to any sport he tried. His rugby career and achievements in cricket are well publicised, but in his younger days he could also be found playing billiards and throwing arrows on a Wednesday evening in the Tally Ho in Trumpington, or turning men twice his age inside out on a Friday evening playing 5-a-side football at Kelsey Kerridge.

Tommy was a true gent, with one of the most genuine and outgoing personalities around and an infectious laugh to match. He will always be missed by all who knew him.

The Tommy Dann Match highlights the influence he had on young rugby players, not only at The Leys and The Perse, but across Cambridgeshire.

He is always in our hearts, and we encourage you to raise a diet coke or a can of kronenberg (Tommy’s favourite drinks) at the match, to remember a great man that left us too early.
